Local Relay for Life group attempt to break record for biggest video game party

Grand Blanc (Michigan) Relay for Life is attempting to break a Guinness World Record for the biggest video gaming party in the world. Japan currently holds the record with 849 people all playing a handheld video game at the same time.

Where: Grand Blanc High School Football Field

When: 3 p.m. June 4th, 2011 at the Relay for Life Event

People who want to participate should bring $1 for the American Cancer Society, print out their flyer and fill out the registration info and bring it along. Bring a handheld video game system and game to play. All of the participants will receive a certificate of participation and if they beat the record, a certificate will be emailed to you by Guinness World Records.

FLINT Michigan — You have the power to put Flint and Genesee County on the map by simply having fun!  On Saturday, June 18 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Genesee County Parks and Recreation Commission will compete against Brownsville, Texas and Glasgow, Scotland to set the Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Zumba® class.  This record breaking attempt will be held in conjunction with Genesee County Parks Free Physical Feast Fitness Fair at Bluebell Beach from 9 am to 3 pm.

To set the record 1,224 people must Zumba® for 30 minutes without stopping.  “Everyone from around the state is welcome to attend this record breaking attempt,” stated Nancy Edwards, recreation program specialist for the Genesee County Parks.  Adults, kids 13 and older, seniors – everyone is welcome and is encouraged to bring their friends too!  For more information on this record breaking attempt and the Free Physical Feast Fitness Fair, please contact Genesee County Parks and Recreation Program Specialist, Nancy Edwards at 810.249.3816 or [email protected].
