Local Bars Highlight Michigan-Made Brews in Friday Pub Crawl

Now here’s a way to wet your whistle: Six Flint-area bars have teamed up to host the second annual Bricks `n Brews pub crawl on Friday, August 7.

Each bar will highlight a different Michigan-based brewery for the evening, providing stamps to bar crawl participants who purchase any size craft beer. Participants who fill all six slots on their stamp cards may return them to the tent located outside 501 Bar & Grill in return for a free commemorative pint glass.

The lineup is as follows:

  • 501 Bar and Grill (Founders Brewing Co.)
  • Blackstone’s (Perrin Brewing Co.)
  • Churchill’s Food and Spirits (Bell’s Brewery)
  • Soggy Bottom Bar (Blake’s Hard Cider)
  • Table and Tap (Shorts Brewing Co.)
  • The Torch Bar & Grill (51 North Brewery)

Pub crawl participants are encouraged to drink responsibly. Shuttle service will be provided to and from Soggy Bottom Bar.

Join The YWCA For A Night Of Guest Bartending With The Fine, The Fit & The Philanthropists

YWCAThis Thursday the YWCA of Greater Flint will be holding a Guest Bartending Event at 501 Bar And Grill in Downtown Flint.  Three teams of two will each take a turn making drinks at the bar showing off their mad skills as they raise money for the many women and children served locally by the YWCA.  The event will be held from 6PM – 9PM with each group taking a one hour shift. Tips are the key here because while this is indeed a fundraiser it’s also a competition and bragging rights are a powerful thing to control in this area and some pretty hefty bragging rights are on the line here. Each team will be raising money for a wonderful local organization and as they do they will also be working to see who can bring in the most tips and be called the winners and champions.  Pouring the drinks will be faces and names that will be familiar to a lot of you – Shannon Easter White, Elizabeth Siler Wise, Genesys Athletic Club‘s Jen Colombo and Melissa Aris, and Philip Shaltz and Dr. Bobby Mukkamala respectively.

So many fundraisers are stuffy, serious affairs but this one is built for fun and with the added bonus of bragging rights on the line it’s easy to imagine how competitive this event is going to be.  Come out and show your support for a great cause and some great sports who are giving their time to help people in our community who need a little help.
