Foodie Fave Friday: Dinner at the Whaley Historic House Museum

Whaley Historical House

It’s not often we feature a museum in our Foodie Fave Friday posts, but Whaley Historic House Museum has quite the dinner party planned for Sept. 24.

Following a tour of the house, led by Museum Director Samantha Engel, guests will be treated to a four-course meal created by Chef Jason Bot.

The Autumnal Equinox Fete will begin with cocktails and appetizers, followed by a salad course, a wine-paired entrée, and a dessert served with an aperitif. Each course will include a brief talk by the chef of the historical and seasonal relevance of each dish, and in many cases of individual ingredients. The chef will also speak on proper Gilded Age dining etiquette, and some of the culinary developments of the era.

Formal dinner attire is appreciated.

Tickets, available at Eventbrite or by calling (810) 471-4714, are $60 per person. Proceeds will benefit restoration projects at the iconic Flint landmark.

For more information about the museum, at 624 E. Kearsley St., Flint, visit www.whaleyhouse.com.
