Goodrich Festival Offers Family-Friendly Activities This Weekend

11742718_1505521746154703_4879324199291225803_nGet ready for “Good Times in Goodrich” – the annual festival will be bringing several events and activities to the downtown Goodrich this Saturday and Sunday. Highlights include:

The Kayla O’Mara Memorial Road Race (August 1)

The Kayla O’Mara Memorial Road Race is held annually at Goodrich High School. The course offers a tour of Goodrich with a variety of terrain.

  • 7 a.m. – Race Day Registration Begins
  • 8 a.m. – 5K Run/Walk Begins (Cost: $20 with shirt; $10 without shirt )
  • 9 a.m. – 1/2 Mile Fun/Run ( Cost: Free; $5 with shirt )
  • 9:15 a.m. – Awards

The Parade (August 1)

The parade will travel from along Hegel Road from Shuman Drive to Clarance Street, beginning at 10 a.m. School-age children are encouraged to join the fun by participating in the bike component of the parade. To participate, arrive at the staging area on Shuman Drive at 10 a.m. with your bike, skateboard, rollerblades or non-motorized scooter. Bonus points if you dress in costume.

Car Show (August 1)

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., vintage cars will be lined along Erie Street in downtown Goodrich. There will also be a fire engine parade, live music, vendors, food, crafters, a kids zone and duck race, followed by a beer tent at Goodrich Country Club at 6 p.m.

Movie in the Park (August 1)

Watch a family-friendly film at Goodrich Commons Park at 9 p.m. Be sure to bring along a lawn chair or blanket for the outdoor showing.
