Foodie Fave Friday: Sorrentos Serves Up Homemade Pastas, Breads


The next time you’re in the mood for lasagna, consider skipping the frozen food aisle for the homemade noodles at Sorrentos Food & Spirits in Flushing. Located at 6395 Pierson Road, the Italian-American eatery offers everything from baked mostaccioli and chicken marsala to Rueben sandwiches and hot submarines (the bread is made fresh on a daily basis, too!).

The history of Sorrentos stems back to 1972, when owner Don Paliani purchased the business, then located on Flushing Road.  After 17 years in the same building, Paliani decided it was time to expand and moved his restaurant into its current location, formerly the home of Paliani’s Imported Food.

Today, the business also offers banquet services for parties of 35 to 55 people, as well as an extensive bar selection.

Sorrentos is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday to Saturday, and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call (810) 659-4351 or visit
