In the Stars: Longway Planetarium Hosting Holiday Shows


The magic of Christmas need not be limited to here on Earth … check out the shows in the stars, too!

Longway Planetarium in Flint is presenting two holiday shows for your viewing pleasure: “George & Oatmeal Save Santa” and the “Holiday Magic Laser Light Show.”

In “George & Oatmeal Save Santa,” Mrs. Claus is worried because Santa has come up missing and has asked Oatmeal, the snowman, to help find him. Join Oatmeal and his friend George, the Planetarium wizard, as they travel the world in search of Santa. Listen to constellation stories from many cultures and learn how to use the Big Dipper to find the North Star. Recommended for ages 4-6. This show runs through at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, through Tuesday, Dec. 23.

With the “Holiday Magic Laser Light Show,” you’ll experience the magic of the holiday season with a little science. The show features traditional holiday tunes from across the generations to contemporary artists performing their personal favorites. Recommended for all ages. This show runs at 2 and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and 2 p.m. Dec. 22-23.
