Learn How to Start a Business at Jumpstart Conference on February 28

Jumpstart Entrepreneur ConferenceEntrepreneurs and small business owners in Genesee County can learn how to start or grow a business during the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce eTEAM’s sixth Annual Jumpstart Conference.  The conference, which takes place on Thursday, February 28 at the Holiday Inn Gateway Centre from 8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., includes workshops and an awards luncheon.

The luncheon highlights the Genesee Rising Star (formerly known as the “Genesee 10 to Watch”) and Spark Award recipients and will also feature Dave Zilko, Vice Chairman of Michigan-based Garden Fresh Gourmet as the keynote speaker.  Zilko will share insights as an entrepreneur who founded a Ferndale, Mich.-based specialty food company more than 20 years ago that has grown to include multiple businesses and America’s number one brand of fresh salsa.

The conference also features an awards luncheon highlighting businesses selected as the Genesee Rising Star and Spark Award recipients.  Spark Awards are presented to new businesses and the Genesee Rising Star recognizes early stage businesses that have exhibited growth.
