Volunteer Zombies needed for commercial

Participants during last year's Zombie Walk.

The Flint Zombie Walk, an annual event organized by zombie enthusiasts who dress up like zombies to raise money for charity, is looking for a few volunteers. The group is shooting an internet commercial to promote this year’s even, which is in October and will raise money for Michigan School for the Deaf.

The commercial will feature zombies performing to Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller.’ Those interested in learning the dance and participating in the commercial can e-mail flintcitytheatre@gmail.com.

The Flint Journal has more details on the commercial and the event:

The local folks behind the charity plan produce an internet commercial set to Michael Jackson’s famous “Thriller” song for this year’s walk and now they are seeking volunteer zombies to learn the Thriller dance and perform in full zombie gear.

Everyone is welcome regardless of experience.

The filming will take place in Flint on July 31 and details will be given at rehearsal time. The rehearsal schedule is as follows:

  • Noon to 1:30 p.m. July 3
  • 7:30-9:30 p.m. July 10
  • Noon to 1:30 p.m. July 17th
  • Noon to 1:30 p.m. July 24

The 2011 Flint Zombie Walk happens on October 8 — World Zombie Day.

Patrick Hayes will be guest blogging at Flint on Full in place of Jared Field through June 23. E-mail him at phayes(at)kettering.edu or follow him on Twitter.
